My Journey
My insatiable quest for understanding, awareness, knowledge began early. I was 4 yrs old and helplessly watched my father living with diabetes that developed into renal failure needing dialysis; and my mother with anxiety, stress and depression. Family life was awashed with relational dysfunction. I grew up with an ache in my heart and decided at the age of 12 to be a doctor and that I would “FIX”all this!
I went to medical school at Monash (Melbourne, Australia) and simply loved and sponged up all knowledge and teaching from my teachers feeling gratified that I could be useful and that my parents would be proud.
Then I became a mother of a sick child with projectile vomiting as a baby then severe eczema and asthma -my reductionist world started to be severely stretched. With flailing arms I scoured for other solutions than to medicate my child with drugs! Hence my many years of investigation into complementary medicine and the practice of the restorative use of Nutritional Medicine, Acupuncture, Environmental Medicine, Energy Medicine, Kinesiology, Manipulative therapies, Herbal Medicine, Homeopathy and specialty therapies like laser acupuncture and light therapy, prolotherapy, prolozone, oxidation therapies, laser blood irradiation or photoluminescence and IPT (Insulin Potentiated Therapy).
The complementarities come from the fact of different approaches needed for our different levels of being – physical Body, Mind and Soul. Modern medical science is based on observation, which can only work out the causes of disease at the observable physical level. Pharmacology and surgery is useful at palliating certain symptoms and diseases. However, restoring functionality of cells and organs do require us to go beyond conventional drugs and surgery
My child’s symptoms started to abate, but I discovered that he was not only stressed but he was also picking up on and suffering my stresses as well. I found psycho-neuro-immunology and statistics showed the connection between the emotional/mental states and diseases like heart disease, asthma, high blood pressure, migraine, irritable bowel syndrome and cancer as a few examples.
Holistic medicine seeks to bridge this gap between mind and body, exploring the connecting pathways in the less tangible subtle energy fields, emotions and thoughts.
Further into my advancing years from an initial reductionist medical approach, I learned through the journeys of my patients, my own family and myself, the quintessential gem of the healing process was what gave meaning and significance to the suffering of physical or mental illness. At this level of awareness the circumstance of life was immaterial. And in these instances, the person even showed gratitude for the previously unwelcomed circumstances and was thankful for a new awareness, which often led to a new way of being and living.
We seem to be able to bear suffering with equanimity when we perceive the rhyme and reason for it. And not surprising to Eastern philosophers, I have witnessed many whose suffering dissipated when they relaxed their held in resistances. The transformation that follows is remarkable and what a privilege to be a witness to. These are some of the joys of being a Transformational Medicine practitioner. I have learned that these quintessential and transforming qualities does actually heal cells!
What is Transformational Medicine?
As holistic health practitioners, we have many modalities to assist patients with their health issues (chronic illness like arthritis, heart disease, autoimmune disorders, cancer, anxiety, stress, depression etc). These modalities inclusive of conventional medicine (drugs & surgery) and complementary and natural medicines may not serve holistically if it is focussed only on managing the symptoms or even healing on the physical levels only.
The paradigm of Holistic Medicine is the recognition that each person is already whole and healthy.
Transformation Medicine practitioners see symptoms, illness or disease as unconscious signals for change and growth towards wholeness and health. TM practitioners are skilled to assist growth, maturation and change and view it as an essential duty of care and a pertinent given in the doctor patient relationship, albeit always patient centred and patient driven.
As such then Transformational Medicine is an overarching model of a complete approach to health and wellbeing that is patient centred and process oriented, using the best of medicine (conventional or complementary) time-fully and appropriately to meet the demands of all areas and dimensions of a person’s life to bring about true healing through transformation.
Transformation Medicine Australia is a Holistic Medical and Natural Therapies Centre that follow the Hippocrates oath of “First do no Harm” and assist our people regain their health and transform whatever level of dis-ease or stuckness they find themselves in.

2. The Mind – Recognising that body symptoms almost always have an underlying call for growth and change. Oftentimes these symptoms arise as we suppress our emotions and/or continue habit patterns or mindsets that are not aligned to what we really want in our lives.
3. The Soul – Releasing underlying blockages to health often leads to experiencing the source of wellness, vitality and radiance within; and from here create new ways that support wellbeing on all dimensions. For most people there is an accompanying peace, health, happiness, joy, freedom and creative expressions of their true being.
